What will you be doing?

The Managing or Principal Consultant, Endur (Natural Gas SME), serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for natural gas trading and risk management operations within Openlink Endur environments. This role drives continuous improvement and optimization across post-implementation support, system enhancements, and business process transformation initiatives. Leveraging deep expertise in North American natural gas markets, transportation, storage, gas scheduling, settlements, and risk management, the consultant partners with clients to deliver strategic solutions that maximize the value of their Endur investment. This position also plays a key role in mentoring team members, developing scalable solutions, and fostering long-term client relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for natural gas trading, transportation, storage, scheduling, settlements, and risk management processes within Openlink Endur.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on natural gas business processes, operational efficiencies, and Endur best practices.
  • Develop and support technical solutions for system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring scalability, robustness, and maintainability.
  • Create design documents and contribute to object-oriented system designs for extending and customizing Endur functionality.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for process optimization across the natural gas trade lifecycle, including deal capture, scheduling, nominations, inventory management, settlements, and reporting.
  • Design functional solutions for custom JVS and/or OpenComponents using Java or .NET (C#) to meet client-specific requirements.
  • Work as part of a team on the functional implementation of Openlink Endur solutions, including design, configuration, testing, deployment, and transition to support operations.
  • Validate test cases to ensure software quality and alignment with natural gas business requirements.
  • Leverage expertise in front, middle, and back-office processes to align Endur solutions with client operational and commercial objectives.
  • Provide guidance and training on Openlink Endur functionality, natural gas trading operations, and ETRM/CTRM best practices.
  • Support clients in addressing regulatory, transportation, and market-specific challenges within North American natural gas markets.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Deep expertise in North American natural gas markets, including physical and financial trading, transportation, storage, gas scheduling, nominations, balancing, settlements, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of the natural gas trade lifecycle and associated front, middle, and back-office business processes.
  • Proficiency in commodity trading, supply chain operations, and financial systems, with the ability to solve complex business and operational challenges.
  • Strong understanding of software quality assurance methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • In-depth knowledge of Openlink Endur architecture, natural gas modules, and customization approaches.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Openlink Endur and gMotion, including transportation and logistics workflows.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex business and technical scenarios.
  • Ability to assess project needs and apply appropriate resource planning and delivery methodologies based on client requirements and team capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
  • Self-driven and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years of experience validating and implementing software solutions, including strong knowledge of Endur in a technical capacity.
