Building Culture from Day One

As the first employee in India, Arpit Chaudhari, Managing Consultant, knows a thing or two about company culture; the values, ways of working, and expectations that make capSpire a great place to work.

Arpit joined capSpire in 2021 in the Gurgaon office, supporting global energy clients across ION’s RightAngle and Allegro CTRM systems and pricing data & analytics platforms such as ZEMA.

“You can teach technology,” Arpit states, referring to the suite of ION software capSpire most frequently works with. “Someone can be exceptional within a platform,” he says, “but you cannot teach character in the same way you can teach someone how to use software.”

What Sets capSpire Apart

Arpit is referring to capSpire’s “sticky statements,” a list of values that have rung true since day one of the company’s formation in 2009. From personal growth, innovation, trust, autonomy, support, respect, and making a difference, he believes this ethos is what sets capSpire apart from other players in the C/ETRM advisory and delivery space.

Despite capSpire being a global company with 10 offices across 4 continents, these values hold true for employees no matter where they’re located or what their job description is. Every capSpire employee is always trying to find a better way, capSpire’s mission since day one.

A Better Way in Action

He provides a recent example of finding a better way in action: “I led the development and implementation of a pricing strategy for a Singapore client that had been pending for over a year due to conflicting requirements between different departments,” he explains. During the implementation, he noticed technical misalignments between platforms that could cause potential issues four or five years down the line. “I reached out to the business because I knew there was a better way to get this done. We pivoted and took three extra days to get it right, so there wouldn’t be an issue years from now.” He said the client had faith in him and taking the time to fix a future problem now established even deeper trust. This exemplified capSpire’s view on long-term client relationships.

Trust, Autonomy, and Support

This example also shows capSpire’s deep commitment to Trust and Autonomy. For Arpit, having autonomy gives him confidence. He says there are clear levels of leadership, and everyone knows his name and is ready to support or answer questions.

“I am never afraid to say ‘I don’t know.”

With an extensive network of experts around the globe, and deeply established honesty and trust, Arpit knows there’s always a solution and a team available to support one another.

For reasons like respect and trust that Arpit has highlighted, employees have rated capSpire as a Great Place To Work for the seventh consecutive year, an achievement highlighting our ongoing commitment to a supportive and empowering workplace.
