To benefit charities and to support the Dallas Crude Association (DCA), capSpire is coming out swinging and with guns blazing by participating in the DCA 30th Anniversary Golf Tournament and Sporting Clays Shoot.
Both events take place on Friday, July 28, 2017. The golf tournament will be held at the Four Seasons Las Colinas and Cottonwood Valley golf courses in Irving, Texas. As part of its contribution, capSpire will sponsor one hole on each course. The clay-shooting tournament will be held at Elm Fork Shooting Sports in Dallas, Texas.
Additionally, three capSpire employees—Talis Bennett-Verschure, Senior Consultant; Emily Fixter, Marketing Manager; and Tom Hunt, Financial Systems Analyst—will serve as event volunteers.“capSpire is always eager to serve the communities in which we live and work. The DCA Golf Tournament and Sporting Clays Shoot are additional opportunities for us to strengthen our involvement with the Dallas community and the energy industry from which we derive the majority of our clients,” says Lance Laubach, capSpire Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to being part of a fun day that supports great causes.”
Through the events that it hosts, the DCA is a driving force in bringing together professionals within the local energy industry to raise funds for selected partner charities. These charities include the Carl McCain Memorial Foundation, which enjoys a close association with the energy industry.
The Carl McCain Memorial Foundation is named for a longtime worker in the crude-oil trading business who passed away after an extended cancer fight—but who was also extremely dedicated to his special-needs granddaughter and concerned about providing financially for her after his death. Originating as a charity golf tournament hosted by Carl’s close friends in 1979, the foundation has grown to assist individuals who have worked in the domestic energy industry, as well as their family members, who are financially burdened by medical expenses. Since its establishment, the foundation has distributed more than $8 million to help recipients focus on overcoming medical challenges rather than stressing about how they will pay for their treatment.
It is this type of important work that the DCA Golf Tournament and Sporting Clays Shoot help to continue. capSpire is proud to sponsor these events and donate funds. We encourage our Dallas clients who work in the energy industry to join in for a round of golf and clay shooting. See you there!
