[RTE News] 132 jobs to be created in Dublin and Galway
More than 130 new jobs are being created by five companies in Dublin and Galway.
The IDA-backed investments are in the areas of IT, life sciences and financial services.
The companies involved are New Relic, SEKO MedTec Solutions, NeoMed, capSpire and Starting Dot. Jobs Minister Richard Bruton says the plan is that these companies will establish deep roots in Ireland from early in their growth and make a ‘substantial impact’ on our economy.
The Emerging Business Division of the IDA – the section of the agency specialising in attracting high-growth companies – has assisted in procuring the positions.
New Relic is creating 50 new jobs as it is establishes its European headquarters in Dublin. The San Francisco-based firm is involved with software analytics.
SEKO MedTec Solutions,a global logistics firm, has announced plans to establish a European Control Centre in Galway, with the creation of 30 jobs.
Meanwhile a manufacturer of nutrition delivery devices is to create 22 jobs. NeoMed are to set up their new European offices in Dublin, which will be responsible for all sales outside of the US.
Global consulting and solutions firm capSpire is to create 20 new positions in business consultancy and software development, and Starting Dot is to create 10 new positions at its Finance and Operations Centre in Dublin.
The internet domain name registry business says these will be cross a range of activities including sales, finance, IT and customer support.
The Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said: “Today’s announcement that five fast-growing young companies, across a range of fast-growing sectors, are locating operations in Dublin and Galway with the creation of 132 jobs is great news for Ireland”.
Welcoming the announcement, the CEO of IDA Ireland, Barry O’Leary, added “Ireland’s reputation as a location for fast-growing businesses to expand into international markets continues to grow. We hope to have the next Amazon, Google and Oracle in this group of companies”.
