Houston, Texas – November 22, 2024 – capSpire is pleased to share that Mary Fuzat has joined the team in the brand-new role of Executive Vice President of Strategy and Operational Excellence. She brings 16 years of experience in fuels and more than 25 years of experience in software industries focused on product management, operational delivery, and Software as a Service (SaaS) leadership, at organizations of varying sizes ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
Mary has a major goal before her at capSpire: To work across global entities and within operating regions to tackle some of the company’s most complex issues during this period of rapid growth around the world.
“We warmly welcome Mary to the capSpire team. As we continue to scale up and progress toward our goal of becoming the largest CTRM company in the world, we are thrilled to have a leader with her caliber of experience and exceptional skills at working with cross-functional groups to solve difficult business problems,” said Jeff Hardcastle, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at capSpire.
In her position, Mary’s immediate priority is to unify capSpire’s operating regions. She seeks to bring people together to identify opportunities to align processes, operating models, systems, and best practices, which will promote consistency across the company and enable growth. However, she wants to accomplish this while encouraging each region to remain nimble and embrace their unique differences to maximize success in those areas.
Additionally, she seeks to standardize and consolidate back-office systems across the globe for scale and enhance employee growth and retention, promoting opportunities that become available as capSpire expands and highlighting career pathways.
Alongside fellow leaders at capSpire, Mary’s challenge is to strike a balance between growing rapidly and maintaining what has made capSpire great: the culture.
“If you talk to anybody who works at capSpire, the amazing culture is one of the first things they mention. It’s all about the people—their continue-to-make-everything-better mindset, their skill set, their camaraderie, and their teamwork. It’s also their dedication to the idea that doing what’s right for the customer comes first, and revenue and profitability are simply byproducts of delivering great service,” said Mary. “I too am passionate about continuous improvement and inspired by customer growth. So I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of maintaining this culture.”
Over the long term, Mary plans to further incorporate globalized strategy into new product offerings and market segments and continue fostering an environment that makes capSpirians happy to be here and empowers them to innovate while supporting their work behind the scenes—for example, with process automation.
“I’m really excited about the service element. Coming from a software background, there’s always a focus on process optimization and voice of the customer. Let’s take those concepts and apply them equally behind the scenes with our own team members in addition to the customers we serve. After all, we are nothing without our people,” said Mary. “Let’s ask ourselves: How can we build an environment that enables our people to maximize their intangible skills and intellect, but allows us to make their work easier behind the scenes so they can continue to be forward focused?”
Throughout her journey at capSpire, Mary seeks to be a leader who embraces curiosity and an openness to learning and experimentation, while providing a process framework that enables and encourages this nimbleness. In her view, risk aversion is the number one factor preventing companies from reaching the next level of success.
“I look at how far this company has come—and capSpire has so much potential and room to grow. I’m looking forward to what the future holds as our team challenges ourselves to continuously ‘find a better way’ together,” said Mary.
